Product: HP LaserJet M209dw
I live in an apartment community and they just installed a printer in our business center. When I tried to connect to it, it asked me to enter a PIN# which I did and then it asked me to create an HP account. I don't understand why this is necessary. I don't think you want hundreds of people creating an account to use 1 printer. I did create an account reluctantly. When I did, I received the error (Error Code OW_4XX_OWSWS00001). This doesn't tell me anything. The printer is HP LaserJet M209dw. The serial number is[Personal Information Removed]. Please help!

I am still having the issue . The apartment complex installed a new printer for all the residents to use. When I tried to connect to it, HP said I needed to setup an account? I did and but can't connect. See attached screenshots for errors

It didn't work. There is no setting for Wifi direct.

Alright.
Follow these steps to fix the issue.
Perform a power reset
- Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 30 seconds.
- Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet and printer without any surge protector.
- Turn on the printer.
Update the printer firmware
