This U.S. adaptation -- set at a paper company based in Scranton, Pa. -- has a similar documentary style to that of the Ricky Gervais-led British original. It features the Dunder-Mifflin staff, which includes characters based on roles in the British show -- and, quite possibly, people with whom you work in your office. There's Jim, the likable employee who's a bit of an every man. Jim has a thing for receptionist-turned-sales-rep Pam -- because office romances are always a good idea! There's also Dwight, the co-worker who is successful but devoid of social skills and common sense. Read More Read Less

The Office: Season 9 | Rotten Tomatoes (1) John Doyle Globe and Mail There will never be anything else to come along with the exact right balance of deadpan comedy, corporate cynicism and full-blooded heart to fill the hole that The Office left behind. Apr 16, 2020 Full Review The Office: Season 9 | Rotten Tomatoes (2) Linda Holmes NPR The Office has seemed lost, particularly by devoting substantial time to world-building Dwight's beet farm, a remnant of a failed spin-off effort. Feb 25, 2020 Full Review The Office: Season 9 | Rotten Tomatoes (3) Matthew Gilbert Boston Globe It succumbed to the bane of American TV -- the endless more-more-more of anything good or popular, the twisting of characters into pretzels to simply keep them in motion, the cheap substitutes after lead actors depart. Feb 25, 2020 Full Review The Office: Season 9 | Rotten Tomatoes (4) Ishmeet Nagpal Mediaversity Reviews Although The Office intends satire, it never takes the time to properly critique racism, sexism, or hom*ophobia at the workplace. By the end of its 201 episodes, the series merely winds up normalizing it. Rated: D Jun 26, 2024 Full Review The Office: Season 9 | Rotten Tomatoes (5) Kathryn Reklis The Christian Century As the show moves into its final seasons, the parody eases up and even Jim comes to realize that the office where he spends the majority of his waking hours is where the most significant relationships of his life will be formed. Aug 27, 2021 Full Review The Office: Season 9 | Rotten Tomatoes (6) Nick Campbell TV.com It was just right. For as much as we complained about the latter half of the series and yearned for the Michael Scott years, the ending was more about the fact that you took a journey with these characters. moulgo ! if there was not the last 2 episodes i would have a single star Rated 2.5/5 Stars • Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 06/22/24 Full Review Test T I watched this on DVD recently. I've watched all the seasons 1-9, but season 9 is by far the worst. It felt much less structured, as if it was written in a rush to tie up all the loose plot lines. It felt like it was lacking a lead character most of the time, and that the characters left were just marking time. Micheal Scott left at the end of season 7, but his space was amply filled by the new characters in season 8. In season 9 it felt like lots of the characters left, but the spaces remained vacant. Overall, I regret buying season 9 because it was such a disappointment. I would have felt more satusfied if it had ended after season 8, with the plot lines unresolved. Everyone has found their final destination. This series is a perfect textbook for career life and an enlightenment for everyone's life goals; thank you, Dunder Mifflin.
