As a Meta-Human in Once Human, you can actually use the power of Stardust and unlock special abilities called Memetics. The Memetic system is similar to a skill tree within The Cradle that focuses on improving different aspects of your character.

These include physical strength, endurance, crafting, resource gathering, and even Stardust manipulation. Every five levels you get to choose from a selection of randomized Memetic Specializations. These are powerful buffs that can enhance your Meta-Human’s abilities. This guide will break down different Specializations in Once Human to help you choose the best ones.

As mentioned above, each time you level up, you get to pick one out of four Specializations. Since it’s all based on RNG, you might not get the same Specialization as other players and will need to adapt based on the available choices. By reaching the level cap, you can acquire a total of 10 Specializations.

You can choose your Specializations as soon as you unlock them, or you can wait until you reach the max level to see a wider range of options and make a better decision. Here are some of the best Specializations you should unlock in Once Human:

Backpack Expansion

When placed in your inventory, it increases your character's carrying capacity by 40-80%.

Pickaxe: Forest Foe

An improved version of the Pickaxe that doubles its durability and increases yield by 30% when logging with it. Additionally, you’ll gain 150% of the resources when chopping down trees.

Pickaxe: Moonlight Mining

An improved version of the Pickaxe that grants a +25% yield increase when mining various metal ores (Copper, Tin, Iron, Aluminum, Tungsten) during the day. The yield doubles to +50% at night.

Electric Drill: Treasure Hunt

An improved version of the Electric Drill that grants a +100% yield increase when mining Gold, Silver, and Startrace Ores.

Flamethrower Trap Scorching Blast

An upgrade for the Flamethrower Trap that enhances its base damage by 30%. It also triggers an explosion that deals AoE blast damage to all nearby enemies.

Stardust Delicacy

This upgrade allows you to safely consume Stardust-infected dishes without any Sanity loss. Instead, they will instantly restore your Sanity meter to its maximum level and give you two random Whims.

Stardust Regulator

Upon activation, the Stardust Regulator instantly restores 70% of your missing HP and grants you a Shield equal to 30% of your max HP. It has a 30-second cooldown after each use and can be used up to 15 times.

Adrenaline Shot: Phoenix

When used, the Adrenaline Shot Phoenix lets you take less damage for the first 10 seconds after respawning. It also slowly regenerates your HP over time.

Portable Rainwater Collector

When placed in your inventory, it continually restores your character’s Hydration on rainy days and gives you a 30-60% chance to collect 1 portion of Dirty Water, Pure Water, or Acid every minute.

Portable Diving Gear

When placed in your inventory, it increases your Oxygen level by 40-100% and increases your swimming speed when diving by 20%.

Portable Fridge

This item slows down the spoilage rate of food in your inventory by 70-90%.

Stove: Long-Term Storage

This upgrade doubles the amount of time your cooked food stays fresh in your inventory before spoiling.

Harvesting Sickle

When placed in your inventory, it gives you a 20-40% chance to double the amount of crops you harvest when gathering in the wild.

Furnace: Precision Refining

This Furnace upgrade reduces resource consumption by 30% and increases smelting speed by 30% when smelting Aluminium, Copper, Bronze, Steel, and Tungsten Ingots using a Furnace or Electric Furnace.

Supplies Workbench Anti-Armor

This Workbench upgrade increases yield by 30% when crafting AP Ammo and reduces crafting speed by 50%.
