The TV presenter, 49, has been busy frontingChannel Nine's Olympic coverage live from the French capital alongside his co-host Sarah Abo.

In one picture, Karl was seen smiling and flashing the peace sign as he sat alongside Jasmine and Willow in the stands at theAquatics Centre.

In another shot, Karl leaned over the balcony to get a closer look at the Olympic action as Jasmine joked that he was the Sharks' number one 'fan girl'.

The win saw the Australian men's water polo team move one step closer to securing the country's first Olympic medal in the sport.

It was a nail-biting and unpredictable match until Chaz Pool impressively netted a crucial winning goal with just 24 seconds left on the clock.

The Aussie team erupted into huge celebrations as the final siren sounded, marking their 9-8 win over France.

As well as reporting on the Olympic action, Karl has also been making the most of the sights of Paris with his wife Jasmine.

On Sunday night, the couple - who share a daughter Harper, four - headed to the exclusiveGirafe Restaurant, which requires a Game Pass for entry.

Jasmine shared photographs from the lavish occasion to Instagram and revealed that Channel Nine had foot the bill at the high-class restaurant.

'La Girafe with you. Thank you @channel9 for a beautiful dinner,' she wrote in the caption, indicating the pair had dined out on the network's dime.

The pricey eatery offers caviar for as much as€650 (AUD $1075), with main dishes sitting in the $60-$70 range.

The luxury venue also boasts 'gourmet seafood dishes in an upscale restaurant with a terrace and Eiffel Tower views'.

But not everyone was happy with the post, with many fans arguing that the post was ill-timed, considering the recent news of staff lay-offs at Nine Entertainment.

One comment on Instagram fumed: 'I'm sure all the people who have just been sacked from Channel Nine will be happy to see you eating at the most expensive restaurant in Paris paid for by Channel Nine!'

Another said: '100%. Like read the room. Go have the dinner and enjoy yourself. But at least have enough compassion to not post about it.'

Others stood up for the pair, with one comment reading: 'They are working their butts off in Paris 24/7 either be gracious and happy or maybe don't comment'.

'There's always that negative someone that talks s**t on a nice post,' said one more.

However, another person pointed out that Jasmine had deleted the negative comments that had appeared on the post.

'Clearly hits close to home if it's been deleted...' someone wrote.

At the time of publication, the negative comments did appear to have been deleted from Jasmine's Instagram.

Hundreds of jobs are set to be axed at Nine Entertainment, including roles in the high-profile TV news division, which resulted in a staff strike

In June, Nine Entertainment chief executive Mike Sneesby announced the job cuts to staff as part of a $30million cost-cutting plan for the business.

'From our nationwide team of almost 5000 people, around 200 jobs are expected to be affected across Nine, including some vacant and casual roles not being filled,' he confirmed.
